Come Into the Ark

Only when we take refuge in Christ are we able to survive the storms of life.

 

Summary

All of us will go through many storms during our lives, but what matters is how we respond to them.  When we turn to Christ during our troubles, we find that He carries us through them. 

Outline

  1. God is calling us into His covering – to be in covenant with Him.
    1. God calls us to Him.
    2. Invitations to fellowship with God are found all throughout the Bible.
  2. An invitation to survive the flood – The call to come into the Ark.
    1. It was a gracious invitation to Noah and His whole family.
    2. There have been floods (problems/battles) in our lives.
    3. Sometimes we feel like we cannot make it.
    4. Noah’s time was very wicked, and so is our time.
    5. The wicked world is governed by wicked thoughts; Christ delivers us from wicked thoughts.
    6. God found grace in the eyes of the Lord to be delivered from his wicked generation.
    7. Because of Noah’s faith, his whole family was blessed and saved.
    8. If our household is serving the Lord, He will show faithfulness to our children.
    9. Our Savior’s voice is more powerful than the voice of the deceiver.
  3. An invitation to take a step of faith
    1. Many things that we do requires a step of faith.
    2. We must enter the ark (being in Christ) by faith to be delivered from the flood.
    3. Noah’s salvation was by grace through faith and so is ours.
    4. We need to give our hearts to Jesus and walk with the Lord.
    5. God has called us to live a life different than those without faith.
    6. John 3:36 – Any who does not obey (not believe) in the Son remains under God’s angry judgment – we need to surrender all to Jesus.
  4. An invitation to Noah’s whole family.
    1. God wants every family member to come to the Lord.
    2. We need to forgive one another and let go of anger and resentment.
    3. One of our most important tasks is to lead our family to the Lord.
    4. We often go through pain, and we need to learn to release it to the Lord.
    5. God wants to release of from pain, doubt, anger and all things that rob us of the Kingdom of God.
    6. God wants to deliver us from our pain so that He can empower us more with the Holy Spirit.
    7. We need to be 100 percent in the Kingdom- we need to walk right with Him.
    8. God wants to go after those who are lost because He loves them.
  5. We survive storms by being in covenant with Jesus Christ.
    1. We will take beatings by life sometimes, but what matters is how we respond to it.
    2. We want to continually mature as Christians.
