Relaunching with Purpose
The upcoming relaunch, tentatively scheduled for September 11th, is a strategic move to re-engage the community. September is often a time when people return from vacation and settle into a new routine, making it an ideal time for outreach and connection.

Meetings will be held on Saturday mornings, providing opportunities for those interested to get involved. The focus will be on the assimilation system, developing a comprehensive welcome team, and ensuring a smooth integration of new members. These efforts are vital for creating an inviting atmosphere for newcomers.
Understanding Our Mission
Central to our mission is the understanding that Jesus came to kindle a fire on the earth. This fire represents the transformative power of the Holy Spirit, which is essential for spiritual vitality. Jesus expressed his desire for this fire to be ignited, emphasizing its significance in the life of every believer.

We often find ourselves asking what drives us. What are the passions that propel us forward? Each of us has a “fire” that motivates our actions, whether it’s personal ambitions, relationships, or spiritual pursuits. Recognizing this passion is crucial for our spiritual journey.
Jesus’ Purpose: Destroying the Works of the Devil
In 1 John 3:8, we learn that Jesus was manifested to destroy the works of the devil. This mission is not just historical; it is ongoing. Jesus’ purpose was to bring life, healing, and freedom to all who believe. The question we must ask ourselves is whether we live with the expectation that Jesus will fulfill this purpose in our lives today.

Many struggle with feelings of inadequacy, believing that they are not worthy of God’s grace. However, our worth is not determined by our actions but by our identity as children of God. We are created in His image, endowed with significance and purpose. This understanding is vital for overcoming the lies that the enemy tries to instill in our hearts.

Jesus began his ministry empowered by the Holy Spirit, and the same Spirit is available to us today. Luke 4:18-19 captures the essence of Jesus’ mission: to preach good news, heal the brokenhearted, and proclaim liberty to the captives. This is the fire that we are called to ignite in our communities.

Rekindling the Fire
As we reflect on our spiritual lives, we must ask ourselves: Are we allowing the fire of the Holy Spirit to burn brightly within us? The enemy seeks to dim this fire, leading us to doubt God’s power and presence in our lives. However, we can choose to rekindle that fire through prayer, worship, and the Word of God.

Stories of revival, such as those from the Isle of Lewis, remind us of the power of prayer and the transformative work of the Holy Spirit. When believers come together in unity, seeking God’s face, powerful movements of God can occur. The call to be “sons and daughters of liberty” goes beyond personal freedom; it entails a responsibility to help others experience that same freedom. We are called to proclaim the gospel, not just as a message of salvation but as a movement that liberates individuals from oppression and bondage.

- We gain insight into why Jesus came from the story of His return to Nazareth after beginning his public ministry
- This is the first time in Luke where Jesus explained his mission:
- Luke 4:16–19 (NKJV) — 16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

- There came into my soul a deep peace, a thrilling joy, and a new sense of power. My mind was quickened. I felt that I had received a new faculty of understanding. Every power was vitalized. My bodily powers were quickened. There was a new sense of spring and vitality, a new power of endurance, and a strong man’s exhilaration in big things. Things began to happen.[1]
