God want us to personally eperience resurrection power in our life.

Faith in the risen Savior creates true peace in a believer’s life. Even in the midst of difficulties we can experience a peace that passes all understanding. Because of resurrection power in our life, we can be delivered from all fear and experience the fullness of Life Jesus has for us.

1. The Risen Christ Gives us Peace

   1. People have been searching for peace ever since the fall of man.
   2. Some people in their search for peace settle for false peace.
   3. Only the risen savior gives us true peace, even in the midst of difficulties in life.
   4. He wants to give us peace and for us to enjoy serving Him.
   5. Jesus is the prince of peace.
   6. John 14:27 – Jesus gives us His peace.

2. We can have peace when we are afraid.

   1. The disciples were assembled in fear of the Jews, but Jesus came and gave them peace – they were hiding instead of rejoicing.
   2. All of the books of the OT prophesied that Jesus would die and rise again.
   3. If you have Jesus in your heart you are alive because of Him.

3. The promise of Jesus resurrecting your life will be fulfilled in following Jesus.

   1. He loves us and wants to fulfill His purposes in our lives.
   2. He wants us to participate and enjoy His life.
   3. He wants us to be successful in our Christian walk.

4. Jesus appeared to His disciples when they were afraid – he will appear to you when you are afraid.

5. The doors being shut and locked could not keep Jesus from His people.

   1. He wants to give us peace.
   2. He wants us to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh.
   3. He wants us to look at each other and the world with His eyes.
   4. He wants us to encourage one another and build each other up.
   5. NO DOOR CAN SHUT OUT CHRIST’S PRESENCE.
   6. When Jesus comes He speaks to fearful hearts.
   7. He wants to empower us to walk with peace.
   8. God wants us to reach everybody so that none should perish.

6. Faith in the crucified and risen Christ takes away our fear.

   1. All things are possible in Jesus Christ for those who believe.
   2. If you seek him you will find true peace in Jesus.
   3. We need to keep pursuing Jesus until we have what He has freely given us.

7. He showed them his hands and his side – the doubting disciples were now amazed.

   1. God wants to free us from doubt, He is alive and His power is for us today.
   2. Peace precedes world evangelism.
   3. Being on fire for Jesus is what draws people to the church.
   4. He wants people to come and say “what is going on?”
   5. We want the Lord to lead this church.

8. We can have peace when we feel alone.

   1. People often feel alone, like nobody cares or understands.
   2. Only Jesus meets the deepest needs of our hearts.
   3. Thomas missed the first meeting after the resurrection – got the nickname “doubting Thomas.”
   4. If your family was to give you a nickname, what would it be?
   5. God wants to give us a good name – He has been in the business of changing people’s name.
   6. CLOSED DOORS COULD NOT STOP JESUS FROM DISPELLING THE DOUBTS OF THOMAS.
   7. God wants us to walk in perfect peace.
   8. Faith is the opposite of fear.

9. Are you enslaved by fear? Trust Christ and have peace.

   1. If you are battling anything, receive prayer.
   2. He has called us all to serve somewhere – He wants to send us once we have peace.
   3. God does not want you to feel alone or overwhelmed – Jesus is the solution to such problems.
   4. Sometimes we find our victory when we get alone with Jesus.
