America Must Choose Life: A Call for a Culture Shift

In today’s message, we are confronted with a critical decision that America must make: the choice between life and death. This isn’t merely about a culture of life versus a culture of death; it’s about the very essence of life itself. We are at a pivotal moment in history, and the path we choose will shape our nation’s future.

Understanding the Culture of Life

To choose life, we must first understand what a culture of life truly means. It’s not enough to have a negative vision of death; we need a clear and positive vision of life. This involves understanding how God intends to order life at every level—individual, national, and international.

The church plays a crucial role in this vision. With a biblical social architecture, we can become leaders who bring blessings to all people. God’s heart is to show love and care to everyone, regardless of their belief in the gospel.

The Church’s Role in Society

Many times, the church has limited its vision, focusing only on personal salvation and church growth. However, the scriptures reveal that God cares deeply about justice, truth, and oppression. We are called to care about these issues as God does. True revival is not just about church expansion but about transforming society morally and spiritually.

The nation of Israel was intended to be a model for other nations, but they fell short. Today, as followers of Christ, we have the power of the gospel to change us from the inside out. Our mission is to manifest the kingdom at national levels, inspiring others to recognize Jesus as the Messiah.

A Biblical Vision for Nations

God’s concern for nations is evident throughout scripture. Nations are an extension of the family, and God operates within this framework. The concept of covenant is central to God’s design, providing security and trust. This covenant relationship is foundational for true human flourishing.

America’s constitutionalism is rooted in this idea of covenant. Our constitution is a reflection of how God operates in the world, emphasizing commitment and love defined by covenant.

Choosing Whom to Serve

In Joshua 24, we find a revolutionary principle: the choice of whom to serve. This choice is fundamental to God’s economy. He governs by offering us the choice to enter into a covenant with Him, allowing us to experience freedom rather than tyranny.

This choice is not just about personal freedom but about national freedom. Without choice, there is no legitimate freedom, and without freedom, we cannot fulfill the life God has for us. America must choose life, but it cannot be forced upon anyone.

The Journey to Mount Sinai

At Mount Sinai, the Israelites encountered the true King of Glory. Despite their past as slaves in Egypt, they were given the choice to enter into a covenant with God. This event highlights the importance of choice and covenant in experiencing God’s fullness of life.

However, the first generation of Israelites failed to enter the Promised Land because they lacked freedom in their hearts. They preferred the security of bondage over the responsibility of liberty. This is a lesson for us today as we strive to choose life as a nation.

The Structures and Spirit of Liberty

To promote freedom and liberty at a national level, we need both the structures and the spirit of liberty. This involves understanding and implementing biblical social architecture, which includes economic structures that glorify God and promote prosperity for all.

Free market capitalism, when aligned with biblical principles, can be a powerful tool for economic growth and human flourishing. However, without a moral foundation rooted in biblical truth, it can lead to oppression and inequality.

The Spirit of Liberty

Beyond structures, we need a spirit of liberty that inspires and empowers individuals to live freely and responsibly. This spirit is grounded in our identity as sons and daughters of God, providing the security needed to embrace freedom.

Our founding fathers understood this, and their vision for America was rooted in a deep commitment to both the structures and the spirit of liberty. As a nation, we must reclaim this vision and work towards a society that values both individual freedom and collective responsibility.

A Call to Action

The choice before us is clear: will we choose life and embrace the vision of a biblical social architecture, or will we fall back into bondage and oppression? The decision is ours to make, and it requires a commitment to both spiritual and societal transformation.

Let us be a nation that chooses life, guided by the principles of God’s kingdom and the love that He has for all people. Together, we can build a society that reflects His glory and brings blessing to both the righteous and the unrighteous alike.

May we be compelled by love to live for God and to share His truth with the world. As we stand together, let us pray for the courage and wisdom to choose life, not just for ourselves but for future generations.
