Mysteries In Life Reveals A Creator

The following excerpt is from my previous article ‘My Faith Is Not Blind.’ I quote, “The famed atheist, Richard Dawkins claims that he has asked many Christians the evidence of their faith and his assertion is that none gave him any proof. To him this is evidence that God does not exist since no one can give him proof.

Dawkins pontificates on other biological reasons for the non-existence of God as well. He uses sarcasm as a means to belittle Christians for not giving any proof for their faith in God. It is sad that the majority Christians cannot give some verification of their faith when there is an ample amount of archeological and forensic historicity to authenticate the scriptures. How can they when an average Christian only spends five minutes a week studying the greatest book ever written! Since Christians cannot give proof of Him, Dawkins’ jabs back, “then there is no God.” Christians should be able to give a defense of their faith; most likely it will not change an atheists opinion, but at least they received an adequate reply. Of course, it means Christians must do some serious studying of why the Holy Bible and its claims are reliable. The following conversation between two academicians about Christ and science is worth repeating. An academic physicist approached Dr. John Lennox and asked him how he could possibly be a mathematical scientist in the twenty-first century and hold the central belief of the Christian faith, that Jesus Christ was simultaneously human and God? Dr Lennox responded, “I will answer your question if you will answer my question first? What is consciousness?” Asked Dr. Lennox. “I don’t know,” His colleague replied. “Let’s think of something easier said Dr. Lennox. What is energy?” “We don’t know,” His colleague said with a grin. “That brings me to my main point”, said Dr. Lennox. He continues, “Would I be right in thinking that you were about to dismiss me (and my belief in God) if I failed to explain the divine and human nature of Christ?” His colleague grinned again, and said nothing. Dr. Lennox went on: “Well, by the same token, would you be happy if I now dismiss you and all your knowledge of physics because you cannot explain to me the nature of energy? After all, energy is surely by definition much less complex than the God who created it?” “Please don’t!” said his colleague. Christians are often held in contempt for not being able to explain Christian Divinity and the push back they get from skeptics to those who believe in the Bible are silly folks of blind faith. News Flash: ALL subjects of schooling have parts of it that cannot be explained such as the story above. Since all elements of life have functions that cannot be clarified, such as energy, am I to be sustained in disapproval of believing in energy when I flip the light switch on to see better in the darkness? Christ solves for me the meaning and significance of life. God gives the explanation to life and the unexplainable mysteries in life reveals that a superior being exists. Dr. Ronald Rhea
