Introduction to Revival

Revival is not just a buzzword; it’s a powerful movement that stirs the hearts of believers and ignites a passion for God’s presence. Recently, during a gathering, a powerful discussion unfolded about the need for revival in America. As we explored what revival truly means, we came to understand that it begins with our expectations and willingness to engage with God.

As we dive deeper, let’s set the stage: God is always ready to take us from glory to glory, and it’s essential that we raise our expectations and prepare our hearts for what He wants to do in our lives.

Understanding Our Place in God’s Plan

One essential aspect that came up during our discussions was the understanding that God has predestined our paths. He has made this day possible before the foundations of the earth were laid. This means that every one of us is here for a reason, and it’s crucial to recognize that we are in the right place at the right time to hear the right word.

Personal Testimonies of Faith

Let me share a bit about my journey. My wife and I have been married for 30 years, and we have been blessed with three incredible sons. Our eldest, Michael, is now 28 and has his own family, including three grandchildren. Steven and his twin brother, Jacque, are 26 and both are also married. It brings joy to see all our children involved in ministry, with Steven and Bianca joining us full-time on the road.

For nearly 29 years, we have traveled around the world, conducting an average of 300 meetings each year. This has allowed us to witness the power of God’s work in various churches and communities. The question remains: are you hungry for revival? Because I certainly am!

The Call for Revival

Over the years, I have seen many churches across America and abroad, and I can confidently say that revival is desperately needed once again. Many in our younger generation have a skewed perception of what revival is, often associating it with flashy lights or loud music. While creating an atmosphere is important, true revival goes much deeper.

It’s about God moving in our hearts and transforming lives. I’ve seen revivals that lasted for two years, where God changed entire cities. This is the essence of revival: it’s not just about what happens inside the church; it’s about what God can do outside in the world.

The Importance of Expectation

One of the key takeaways from our discussion was the importance of expectation. God feeds us according to our expectations. If we come expecting little, we will receive little. However, if we come with great expectation, we can witness the miraculous. So, I ask you: how many of you want to see revival come? This question is crucial as we begin to sow seeds for revival in our lives and communities.

Seven Keys to Revival

As we explore the concept of revival further, I want to share what I believe are the seven keys, requirements, or even hindrances to revival. These points will guide us in understanding what it takes to see a true move of God.

1. Seek First the Kingdom of God

Matthew 6:33 reminds us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. This is foundational. We often prioritize our own desires over God’s kingdom, which leads to complacency. We must strive to make God’s kingdom our primary focus.

2. Embrace Prayer

Prayer is often perceived as hard work or boring, yet it’s our lifeline to God. Communication with Him is vital for building our relationship. If we evaluated how much time we spend in prayer versus other activities, we might find our priorities are misplaced. True revival cannot happen without fervent prayer.

3. Cultivate a Vision

Having a clear vision for our lives and church is essential. Without a vision, we cannot grow. Unity among the congregation is crucial for achieving this vision. When we align our hearts with the leadership and support the church’s direction, we can see God’s blessings manifest.

4. Understand the Role of Unity

Unity is vital in any revival effort. Psalm 133 tells us that where there is unity, God commands a blessing. When the church operates as one body, we can expect God to move powerfully among us. We need to work together toward a common goal.

5. Break Free from Tradition

Traditions can hinder the flow of God’s Spirit. We must be open to the new things God wants to do and not be constrained by how things have always been done. It’s time to let go of old patterns that no longer serve us.

6. Walk in Agape Love

True love is foundational to any revival. Jesus commanded us to love one another as He loves us. This agape love must be genuine and extend beyond our church walls. It’s about reaching out to those in need, the marginalized, and those who may not look or act like us.

7. Practice Obedience

Obedience to God’s Word is crucial. We can’t just be hearers of the Word but must be doers. Jesus commissioned us to go and make disciples. If we are not actively sharing our faith and reaching out to others, we are missing the mark.

The Cost of Revival

Revival costs something. It requires our time, our lives, and our willingness to step out of our comfort zones. It’s not just about receiving; it’s about giving back to God and serving our communities. We must be prepared to pay the price to see revival come.

Conclusion: The Call to Action

As we move forward in seeking revival, let’s commit ourselves to these seven keys and be intentional in our actions. God is ready to pour out His Spirit upon us, but we must be willing vessels. Let’s come together in unity, expectation, and love, and watch as God transforms our lives and communities.

Are you ready to embrace revival? Let’s take this journey together and see what God will do when we fully engage with Him!

Why You Feel Alone in a Crowded Church

One of the great tragedies of modern Christianity is that many people can sit in a room full of believers and still feel profoundly alone. They may attend every week, listen to solid teaching, and genuinely love Jesus, yet something still feels missing. When the church aligns with God’s design, it becomes a place of healing, transformation, belonging, and encounter with the living Christ. Discover how to cultivate this authentic community.

In a time of division, the church must reflect the beauty of every tongue, tribe, and nation. Authentic Relational Church — The Jerusalem Model

Christianity can appear successful by worldly standards—big buildings and large attendance—yet still miss the transforming power Jesus intended. When the church is organized by systems instead of organic, family-shaped relationships, it often fails to reflect heaven on earth. The heart of the problem is structural. A mechanistic church produces mechanical results, while a church rooted in belonging and the gospel brings life, healing, and renewal. The dream is simple: every person experiences love, welcome, and a personal encounter with Jesus. Discover how the early church’s model can inspire a thriving, relational community today.
