Transition to Transformation: Embracing the Journey

Good morning! Today, we’re diving deep into the concept of “transition to transformation.” This isn’t just a catchy title; it reflects a profound journey we all experience in our lives. As we explore this topic, we’ll look at personal stories, biblical principles, and practical applications that can guide us through our own transitions.

The Power of Prophetic Words

Before we delve into the meat of our discussion, let’s take a moment to acknowledge the power of prophetic words. Prophecy isn’t just about foretelling the future; it’s about speaking life and truth into our situations. I’ll share some personal experiences to illustrate how God uses connections in our lives.

Forty years ago, my wife Donna and I were attending a Lamaze class as we awaited the arrival of our daughter, Crystal. In that class, there were twenty-five pregnant women and just a handful of us guys. It was a comical sight, but then something unexpected happened. When it was revealed that I owned an ice cream shop, I suddenly became the most popular man in the room! The women couldn’t get enough of that sweet treat, especially during their pregnancy.

This connection not only made our Lamaze classes more enjoyable but also helped keep my ice cream shop afloat during the slow winter months. This is a perfect example of how God orchestrates connections. Sometimes, we don’t even realize how these relationships will impact our lives until we look back.

Creating Connections

Throughout my journey, I’ve learned that connections are essential for growth. When I partnered with a friend to open Taco Flats, we started hosting jalapeño eating contests that became quite the sensation in Austin. This venture introduced me to influential people in the community, like Wally Pryor, the UT football announcer. Each connection opened doors for new opportunities.

Later, with two other partners, I co-founded a company called Preferred Data Systems. Our only assets were our skills and a dream. We began writing our business ideas on napkins over breakfast at Jim’s Cafe. It was a humble start, but through our determination and divine connections, we secured contracts with every state agency in Texas. This experience taught me that when you step out in faith, God will align the right people in your path.

Understanding Transition

Let’s shift gears and recap what we discussed last week about transition. Transition is not merely about overcoming challenges; it’s an ongoing process that leads us on a journey with God. It’s important to understand that while transitions can be unsettling, they also bring excitement and growth. God is the architect of our lives, carefully orchestrating our paths.

When we embrace transitions, we can expect divine connections and supernatural support. Just like Paul in the Bible, who often found himself on the wrong path, we too may veer off course. But God gently guides us back, reminding us that our hearts and motives matter more than our missteps.

The Three Phases of Transition

In our last discussion, we touched on the three phases of transition: the end, the idle time, and renewal. Each phase is crucial for transformation. The end signifies letting go of the old to make way for the new. Idle time, like the flapping of butterfly wings, creates movement and change in the atmosphere. Lastly, renewal is about revitalization and fresh beginnings.

It’s essential to recognize that this journey is not just about individual growth but collective impact. We must pray for one another and lift each other up during these times. Our combined faith can create significant ripples in our community.

Transition to Transformation

Now, let’s explore the concept of transformation. A transition can maintain the status quo, but transformation is what propels us forward. Romans 12 speaks to this beautifully, encouraging us to renew our minds and embrace God’s will. Transformation often begins with revelation, and it requires faith and action.

When we look at the story of Jacob crossing the brook, we see a powerful example of transformation. Jacob wrestled with an angel and refused to let go until he received a blessing. This determination represents the faith we need to hold onto during our transitions. God often asks us to confront our realities, just as Jacob had to acknowledge his identity as a deceiver before receiving a new name.

Executing Our Faith

Execution of our faith is vital during transitions. It’s not enough to have faith; we must act on it. Consider Alexander Graham Bell, who persisted through over a thousand experiments before successfully inventing the telephone. Each attempt was a step toward transformation, not a failure. This mindset is crucial for anyone facing transitions in life or business.

Every great success story is rooted in perseverance. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a student, or navigating personal challenges, remember that faith without action is dead. We must not only dream but also take steps toward those dreams. God is waiting for us to step out in faith and trust Him with the process.

Practical Steps for Transformation

As we navigate our transitions, here are some practical steps to embrace transformation:

  • Enjoy the Journey: Embrace each moment of your transition. Celebrate the small victories along the way.
  • Test Your Assumptions: Be open to feedback and willing to adjust your plans. Surround yourself with supportive people who share your vision.
  • Face Reality: Acknowledge your current situation honestly. This is the first step toward meaningful transformation.
  • Be Open to Different Methods: Don’t be rigid in your approach. Flexibility can lead to unexpected opportunities.
  • Seek Divine Guidance: Pray for wisdom and discernment. Trust that God is leading you toward growth and renewal.

Remember, every transition can lead to profound transformation if we approach it with the right mindset. God is continually working in our lives, and our faith can fuel that process.

Conclusion: Embrace the Transformation

As we conclude, let’s commit to embracing the transitions in our lives. They are not merely hurdles to overcome; they are opportunities for growth and transformation. Remember that God is with you every step of the way, orchestrating divine connections and guiding your path.

Let us be bold in our faith, stepping out into the unknown with confidence. Together, we can support one another in this journey, flapping our wings in unity to create a powerful impact in our community.

Thank you for being part of this journey. May God bless you as you navigate your transitions and embrace the transformations He has in store for you!

Why You Feel Alone in a Crowded Church

One of the great tragedies of modern Christianity is that many people can sit in a room full of believers and still feel profoundly alone. They may attend every week, listen to solid teaching, and genuinely love Jesus, yet something still feels missing. The issue is not that church does not matter, but rather that we have often built church on a worldly model instead of the kingdom model Jesus intended. When the church aligns with God’s design, it becomes a place of healing, transformation, belonging, and encounter with the living Christ. Discover how to cultivate this authentic community.

Authentic Relational Church — The Jerusalem Model

Christianity can appear successful by worldly standards—big buildings and large attendance—yet still miss the transforming power Jesus intended. When the church is organized by systems instead of organic, family-shaped relationships, it often fails to reflect heaven on earth. The heart of the problem is structural. A mechanistic church produces mechanical results, while a church rooted in belonging and the gospel brings life, healing, and renewal. The dream is simple: every person experiences love, welcome, and a personal encounter with Jesus. Discover how the early church’s model can inspire a thriving, relational community today.
