God is calling Christians to a flight of rebirth!
Biblical truths you heed and act upon have a profound outcome upon the sculpting of your character. Unfortunately, we have numerous individuals that go to church and do not adhere to the teachings of Christ; but are “Christians in name only.” Therefore, many heed to all kinds of chatter that is the antithesis of God’s Holy Word to fancy their own desires. In this article eagles represent sincere Christians who obey Christ. Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15
True Christians are searching scriptures for truth knowing revelation is fundamental in changing ones disposition of heart. The first principle in obtaining divine revelation is found in the Holy Bible; one must understand the different ways God speaks to achieve this Divine data. And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. Romans 13:11 Have you fallen asleep; are you allowing the influence of worldly desires to pollute you? But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh. Jude 1:20 Guard your soul by hiding the Word in your heart.
Any young bible student knows that God speaks by metaphor, allegory, parables, miracles, and literally. When studying God speaking to us in Scripture, word origins are helpful as well. When Jesus said, “I am the door… do think you He was saying He is a literal door? Of Course not, it is a metaphor. A metaphor is something that existed or still exists, but is not to be taken literally it is to convey a central truth.
Below are two verses with one word (tarry and wait) in each scripture verse. The word tarry and wait are synonymous. Like most words they have different meanings so one definition for wait is: To bind together, so re-read the scriptures below and replace tarry and wait with bind together. Of course, what is binding them together can be applied by various applications to uncover a central truth. Wait also is aggressive not passive. A word picture for wait: is a spider manufacturing its web to capture a grasshopper for dinner. The spider is waiting by binding together a web. Is not the spider being intense?
Jesus said to His disciples, “And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry [bind together] ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” (Luke 24:49) In this context Jesus was talking literally to His disciples.
But they that wait [bind together] upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:39)
Isaiah was aware of the habits of eagles and their regal matter. He chose this magnificent creature as a parallel to a Christian renewing their strength by binding together God’s processes to renew a Christians’ intensity. The following metamorphosis of an eagle renewing their power is analogous to that of a Christian revamping their potency.
Naturalist describes some mysterious instincts of these beautiful birds when they reach the age of forty. At the age of forty their physical appearance changes and their endurance becomes weaker.
At this stage of life they fly to a high place and make a decision to live or die. Some decide to die and others select to live. Naturalists do not know why this wonder occurs. Eagles that select to live go through a painful process of renewing their beaks, talons and feathers that extend their lifespan another thirty years. They live longer than any of their specie.
They soar to a mountaintop crafting a nest where they settle down to begin the process of revision. At this conjuncture of life their beaks become extra bent downwards to make it difficult to pick at their food. Also, an eagle’s screech is weakened that makes their prey less concerned as they cover the skies. A vigorous scream from a healthy eagle makes their victims’ scurry making it easier to spot and pick-up their prey.
To reestablish its mouthpiece they beat it against the rocks until it pops out and wait pending the growth of a new beak. Now the eagle’s scream is once again prominent and their victims scurry afresh making them easy to spot for dinner.
The eagle’s scream is analogous to the prayers of a Christian. Are your prayers bent down low making it difficult to scamper the demons? And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. Acts 19:14 Does the demonic realm know you have authority in Christ’s name?
To renew your prayer life pluck out the weak repetition to heaven by humbling yourself before the Lord. For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Isaiah 57:15 A good practical exercise to reawaken your prayer is to open the Psalms and read a verse and pause to interject your propositions about that verse to the Lord. Before long, your dull mind is aroused to a richness in you exalting Christ in mind and spirit. Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26
Weak talons prevent them from grabbing prey on the run. With their new beak the eagle’s next course is to break-off its talons and wait for them to grow back. The talons represent the promises of God a Christian can grab hold of for nourishment. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him. Psalm 105:42 For He remembered His holy promise, And Abraham His servant. He brought out His people with joy, His chosen ones with gladness. He gave them the lands of the Gentiles, And they inherited the labor of the nations, That they might observe His statutes And keep His laws. Praise the Lord Psalm 104:42
The last step for the eagle’s restoration is plucking out their feathers with its new beak and talons. The old feathers are so weighted down the wings fold into its chest and flapping their wings to lift for flight making it an exhaustive exercise.
The weightiness of their feathers is symbolized of a Christian’s heaviness from amassing years of burdens, insecurities, sins, hurts and a absence of mercy toward others. Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:27
Is it not time for your flight of rebirth? If you so desire, then, bind together a renewed prayer life, a renewed hold on the promises of God, a renewed purpose by casting off all that might entangle you from running a faithful race. Is the life you’re living, worth Christ dying for?
