Embracing the Two Kingdoms: The Path to Blessing and Transformation

Good morning! Today, I want to share a message that I believe will resonate deeply with many of you. Whether you are watching from home or here in person, I sense a powerful movement of the Holy Spirit. Some of you are on the brink of breakthrough—whether that means being set free, saved, or receiving a fresh revelation from God. As I prepared for today’s service, I was reminded of the refreshing nature of rain, which I experienced early this morning. It rained for about 20 minutes, and during that time, I felt the Lord speaking to me about the blessings and transitions that are coming our way.

The Importance of Transition

Often, we need to undergo a transition to receive the blessings God has for us. This principle isn’t limited to ministers or churches; it applies to all of us, including business people. Before I became a minister, I spent time in the business world as the CEO of Preferred Data Systems and ran my own insurance agency. During my time in business, I learned that transitions are crucial for growth and success. You see, blessings can sometimes be withheld because we resist the necessary changes that lead to them.

Take Jack Welch, for example. While I wouldn’t necessarily follow him for his character, I respect his business acumen. Welch applied principles from the Bible to achieve success in the corporate world. Unfortunately, the church often shies away from discussing money and principles, thinking it’s sufficient to leave everything in God’s hands without applying any practical steps. This is where we miss out.

The Two Kingdoms: Light vs. Darkness

There are two kingdoms in this world: the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness. When we accept Christ, we transition from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. However, being in the kingdom of light does not mean we have arrived; it’s a continuous journey toward maturity and alignment with Christ’s heart and attitude. This ongoing mentorship under the Holy Spirit is vital for our growth.

In Isaiah 9:6, we read, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder.” This verse highlights that God’s government has principles that lead to righteousness and holiness. His government is always increasing, and with that increase comes peace. When we have order, we experience increase, and with increase, we find peace. This is a promise from God that we can hold on to.

Principles of the Kingdom

Principles are rules for life. When I think of principles, I remember a time when Jack Welch became the CEO of General Electric. The company was struggling, but he gathered his senior management team and began to share a vision for the future. He introduced them to the “VA II model,” which emphasized vision and accountability. Those who didn’t align with that vision were let go, but those who did were able to thrive.

In the Bible, we learn about talents and the importance of being faithful with what we have. The parable of the talents teaches us that those who invest wisely will be rewarded. Yet, there will always be those who choose to play it safe, burying their talents instead of using them for growth. This is a principle that applies not just in business but in every aspect of our lives. God has given us creativity and the ability to create wealth, not just for our benefit, but to bless others.

Understanding God’s Government

Isaiah 9:6 continues by stating that the increase of His government will have no end. This is a powerful reminder that God is in control, and His plans are always for our good. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts is at work in our lives, and we are called to be part of His army—spreading His principles and bringing others into the light.

In Deuteronomy 28, we see that we have the power to choose blessings or curses. The choice is ours! Each of us can decide to live under the blessings of God by adhering to His principles. It’s not just about avoiding curses; it’s about actively pursuing the blessings that come from living a life aligned with God’s will.

Renewing Our Minds

Romans 12:1-2 reminds us to present our bodies as living sacrifices and not to conform to the patterns of this world but to be transformed by the renewal of our minds. This transformation is essential for discerning God’s will—what is good, acceptable, and perfect. We all have the ability to renew our minds through the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s not a one-time event; it’s an ongoing process that requires our active participation.

Some of you may be feeling weary or discouraged. Let me encourage you: do not grow weary in doing good. In due season, you will reap if you do not lose heart. Every opportunity we have is a chance to sow seeds of goodness, and we must be mindful of how we use those opportunities.

The Laws of Reciprocity

We must recognize the laws of reciprocity in our lives. Galatians 6:7 tells us that whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. If we sow to the flesh, we will reap corruption; if we sow to the Spirit, we will reap everlasting life. This principle is foundational in understanding how our actions impact our lives and the lives of those around us.

Consider the story of Pastor Buddy Hicks, who led a significant youth revival. Many lives were transformed, and he saw the power of God at work in a mighty way. However, he also faced opposition from those within the church community who were not welcoming to the new believers. This is a reminder that sometimes, the greatest resistance comes from within the church itself.

Breaking Curses and Building Relationships

We must be vigilant about the associations we have in our lives. If we are connected to negative influences, we may find ourselves hindered from receiving God’s blessings. Breaking off unhealthy relationships and word curses is crucial to experiencing the fullness of God’s promises.

One example is Robert Duran, who faced challenges in his ministry. After breaking unhealthy associations and seeking God’s guidance, he experienced a turn of events that led to incredible blessings. God opened doors for him that he never expected, proving that when we align ourselves with His will, we can expect His favor.

The Power of Forgiveness

Forgiveness is another vital aspect of living in God’s kingdom. If we hold onto grudges or resentment, we can block the flow of blessings in our lives. God calls us to forgive others as He has forgiven us. This act of obedience opens the floodgates of His grace and mercy in our lives.

In closing, I want to remind you that we are all on a journey of transformation. We are called to live under the principles of God’s kingdom, to renew our minds, and to be active participants in His plans. The blessings He has for us are abundant, but we must be willing to make the necessary transitions to receive them.

As we move forward today, I encourage you to reflect on the areas in your life where you need to make changes. What steps can you take to align yourself with God’s kingdom principles? Let’s pray together, seeking His guidance and strength as we embark on this journey of faith.

Authentic Relational Church — The Jerusalem Model

Christianity can appear successful by worldly standards—big buildings and large attendance—yet still miss the transforming power Jesus intended. A mechanistic church produces mechanical results, while a church rooted in belonging and the gospel brings life, healing, and renewal. The dream is simple: every person experiences love, welcome, and a personal encounter with Jesus. Discover how the early church’s model can inspire a thriving, relational community today.
