Expecting More from God

The message today focuses on the expectation of God’s goodness and power in a world that seems increasingly chaotic. With various worldviews vying for our attention, it’s essential to remember that only Jesus Christ offers true salvation from sin, which is at the root of the world’s problems. The church is called to rise, embodying the apostolic faith, and demonstrate the transformative power of God in every aspect of life—from our individual journeys to our communities and nations.

The Church’s Role in the World

The church has a vital role in representing God’s grace and truth. As believers, we are invited to experience the goodness of God and share it with others. This message resonates at every level of society, from families to businesses, emphasizing the need for a clear vision of divine healing and restoration. God desires to bless everyone, including those who do not yet believe in Him.

Some individuals may need to experience God’s goodness personally before they can believe in His love and power. This journey of faith involves creating environments where people can encounter the love of God and understand His invitation to come back from the bondage of sin.

The Crossroads of America

America stands at a critical juncture, facing the choice between maintaining the foundational beliefs established by our forefathers and succumbing to a culture of oppression. The future holds two paths: one leading to spiritual awakening and restoration of apostolic power, and the other toward tyranny and bondage. The church must not shy away from believing in the power of the gospel; it is this very belief that has the potential to change the course of history.

Many Christians have settled for a pessimistic view of the future, assuming that a culture of oppression is inevitable. However, the gospel is powerful enough to heal not just individuals but also nations. Sin is the root cause of societal issues, and the church must reclaim its role in addressing this problem with faith and action.

The Battle Within Christianity

Throughout history, the battle within Christianity has been between the true church, which remains faithful to God’s word, and the false church that adopts worldly values. This struggle has led to many of the challenges we face today. As the church, we must acknowledge our responsibility in this situation and seek forgiveness for our failures.

Each person who turns to the Lord for help can testify to His saving power. Marriages and lives that seemed beyond repair can be restored by the love of Christ. The same transformation is possible for our nation, but it requires a renewed commitment to faith and action from the church.

The Importance of Expectation

Expectation is a critical aspect of faith. Many believers today struggle with doubt and fear, which can hinder their ability to receive God’s blessings. Just as the blind men in the Bible believed in Jesus’ power to heal, we too must believe that God can intervene in our lives and in our nation.

When Jesus visited His hometown, He marveled at the unbelief present, which limited what He could do there. This serves as a reminder that our lack of faith can stifle the work of God in our lives. We must choose to cultivate an environment of expectation, believing that God can and will move mightily among us.

Faith Over Fear

In times of uncertainty, it’s easy to succumb to fear and discouragement. However, we are called to rise above these feelings and focus on the power of God. Just as Mordecai encouraged Esther to act boldly for her people, we too must step out in faith, trusting that God is at work behind the scenes, orchestrating His plans for our good.

Esther faced significant risks but ultimately chose to obey God’s call. Similarly, we are invited to confront our fears and insecurities to fulfill our purpose in God’s plan. This act of faith can lead to incredible outcomes, not just for ourselves but for our communities and beyond.

Worshiping in Spirit and Truth

To restore apostolic Christianity, we must engage in worship that combines both spirit and truth. Many churches today emphasize either emotional experiences or sound doctrine, but both elements are essential for a complete relationship with God. When we merge these two aspects, we create a powerful environment for growth and transformation.

The early church experienced the mighty works of God because they believed and acted on His word. Today, we must reignite that same fire of expectation and faith within our communities. It is not enough to simply attend church; we must actively seek God’s presence and power in our lives.

Expecting More from God

As we look to the future, we must cultivate a spirit of expectation. God desires to do more than we can imagine, but we must be willing to believe in His promises. The law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus sets us free from the law of sin and death, and we can live in the fullness of that freedom.

Our faith should not be limited by our past experiences or societal pressures. Instead, we can stand confidently in the truth that God is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine. When we expect more from God, we open ourselves up to the limitless possibilities He has for us.

Conclusion: A Call to Action

In conclusion, we are called to expect more from God, both individually and collectively as a church. Let us not be satisfied with mediocrity or the status quo. Instead, let us strive for a deeper relationship with God, filled with expectation and faith.

As we step out in faith, believing in the power of the gospel, we will see transformation in our lives, our communities, and our nation. The spirit of God is looking for those who will dare to believe, and we can be those individuals who light the fire of faith in our world today.
