God Can Resurrect What is Dead

Today, we dive deep into an essential truth: God has the power to resurrect what seems dead in our lives. This topic resonates with many of us, especially when we face challenges that feel insurmountable. Life can often feel like a series of Jericho walls, towering obstacles that block our path. But I want to remind you, no matter how daunting those walls appear, the King of Kings reigns supreme over every situation.

Identifying Your Jericho Walls

As we begin, I want you to reflect on your life. What are the things that seem like they cannot be overcome? Perhaps it’s a troubled relationship, a stagnant career, or a dream that feels lost. Whatever it is, I encourage you to visualize it now. Picture that wall standing in front of you, seemingly unmovable. In this moment, I want you to remember that God is still in control.

Just as the Israelites faced the walls of Jericho, we too have our battles. But the instruction they received was not to attack with weapons but to shout and march. When was the last time you shouted at your obstacles? When was the last time you declared that Jesus Christ reigns in your situation? Let your shout be a declaration of faith!

We often cheer loudly at sporting events or concerts, giving ovations to those who entertain us. Yet, how often do we reserve that same enthusiasm for praising God? The kind of praise that God inhabits is a shout of victory, a declaration that He is at work in our lives. So, on the count of three, let’s lift our voices together and shout at the walls that stand before us. Ready? One, two, three!

Believing in God’s Promises

Let’s look at 2 Chronicles 20:20, which states, “Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established; believe His prophets, and you will prosper.” This verse is vital because it emphasizes the importance of faith in God’s promises. Just as the Israelites placed their trust in God before facing their enemies, we too must believe that God will provide for us and lead us through our struggles.

When the Israelites marched into battle, they were instructed to send the praisers ahead. Their praises created confusion among their enemies, leading to victory. This is a powerful reminder that our praise can shift the atmosphere. God is still in control, even when things seem chaotic in our lives.

Understanding Surrender

Now, let’s address a challenging truth: there are times when God permits things to happen in our lives that He could have easily prevented. This is part of His divine wisdom. You may find yourself questioning why certain hardships persist. But this is often a call to deeper surrender. God desires our hearts and our willingness to trust Him, even when we don’t understand.

Many Christians desire to grow spiritually, seeking transformation from glory to glory. However, this journey requires a willingness to embrace the valleys along with the mountaintops. Life is not always filled with rainbows and sunshine; sometimes, we have to navigate through the darkness. But remember, it is in these moments that our faith is tested and refined.

The Journey Through Hardship

In our journey of faith, we cannot escape the reality of hardship. The Bible teaches us that “through many tribulations, we must enter the kingdom of God.” When we face trials, we must remember that God is working behind the scenes, preparing us for greater things. This brings us to the concept of encouragement—there are two sides to this coin.

One side offers positive reinforcement, while the other calls us to action. Sometimes, God nudges us to rise up and take steps forward, even when we feel like giving up. It’s essential to recognize when God is prompting us to move and to respond with faith.

Prophetic Encouragement

As I ministered this morning, I felt a strong sense of prophetic encouragement for individuals in our midst. I believe God is speaking restoration and favor into your lives. For those who may feel stuck or uncertain, God is calling you to step forward into your blessings.

For example, I had a word for a couple in our congregation. I saw them standing at a threshold, contemplating whether to step into the abundance God has for them. The Lord reminded them that nothing behind them is worth returning to. Sometimes, God places us in seasons of waiting so we can fully appreciate the blessings ahead.

God’s Timing and Our Faith

Let’s reflect on the story of Lazarus. When Jesus arrived at the tomb, Lazarus had been dead for four days. It seemed hopeless. Yet, Jesus declared that if they believed, they would see the glory of God. How often do we stop believing when circumstances look dire? It’s crucial to remember that God’s timing is not our own. He may allow us to go through seasons of waiting, but He is always working on our behalf.

Jesus called Lazarus forth from the grave, demonstrating His power over death. This is a powerful message for us: the promises we thought were dead are not beyond God’s reach. He can bring life where there appears to be none.

The Power of Resurrection

As we conclude, let’s hold onto the truth that God can resurrect what is dead. Whether it’s dreams, relationships, or hope, nothing is too difficult for Him. This is not just a theological concept; it’s a personal reality for each of us. God desires to breathe life into every area of our lives.
