Daring to Dream About the Church

In our journey of faith, we often find ourselves reflecting on the teachings of the Bible, particularly the words of Jesus. One such passage comes from John 12:31-33, where it states, “Now is the judgment of the world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.” This profound declaration introduces us to the concept of liberation through Christ. Jesus, through His sacrifice, has drawn all people to Himself, and it is essential to understand the gravity of this moment.

Many times, we focus on how to elevate Jesus in our worship, believing that by doing so, we can bring revival. However, we must realize that Jesus has already accomplished this through His death on the cross. He has broken the chains of sin and darkness, offering us a solid foundation of faith and the promise of deliverance.

When we acknowledge the significance of Christ’s sacrifice, we develop a sense of expectation for both our present and future. Often, we see in Scripture how our faith plays a crucial role in what we receive. The message is clear: when we focus on Christ, extraordinary things begin to unfold.

The Gospel as a Worldwide Liberation Movement

The gospel of Jesus Christ can be described as a “worldwide liberation movement.” This phrase encapsulates the essence of what it means to share the good news. The entire world is in bondage and darkness, and the gospel brings forth liberation, healing, and light. It’s about setting the captives free and restoring hope.

The cross stands at the center of this movement, symbolizing a new order of love, freedom, and righteousness. In this new reality, greatness is found in servitude, and the least among us are elevated. It is a powerful reminder that the message of Christ is not just for a select few but for all humanity.

The Impact of the Holy Spirit

After Jesus’ resurrection and ascension, He sent the Holy Spirit to empower the church. This empowerment is not just for personal benefit but for the transformation of the world. The early church, as described in the Acts of the Apostles, experienced a radical shift. They were able to turn the world upside down, demonstrating the power of the Holy Spirit through signs, wonders, and a compelling witness.

Imagine a world where the power of the Holy Spirit is unleashed! The church becomes the epicenter of change, bringing light to darkness and hope to despair. This is the potential that lies within us as believers.

Rekindling Our Dreams

The challenge we face today is rekindling our dreams. Many of us have allowed our dreams to die, becoming complacent in our faith and losing sight of the mission. We need to dare to dream again! Dreams are essential for motivation, passion, and purpose. They unite us and empower us to take action.

When we fail to dream, we risk being swept away by the mundane or the negative influences of culture. Instead of pursuing a dream worthy of our King, we may settle for dreams shaped by convenience, security, or even anger. This is not the life God intended for us. We must strive to dream dreams that reflect His kingdom.

Understanding the Dream of the Church

What does it mean to dream about the church? It means envisioning what God wants for His body. It means understanding that we are part of a worldwide liberation movement. We must look to the example of the Apostle Paul, who had a profound encounter with Jesus that fueled his ministry.

Paul’s life was marked by radical transformation, and his dreams were rooted in the mission of Christ. He pursued his calling with relentless passion, turning cities upside down and leading countless souls to Christ. His example reminds us that we, too, can have a significant impact when we align our dreams with God’s purpose.

Encountering Jesus Daily

The key to Paul’s success was his continual encounter with Jesus. Each day, he sought to deepen his relationship with the Lord. This is what fueled his passion and enabled him to perform miracles and spread the gospel. We must ask ourselves: Are we having regular encounters with the Lord? Are we seeking His presence daily?

When we cultivate our relationship with Christ, we experience renewal and empowerment. It is through these encounters that we gain clarity on our dreams and purpose. Just as Paul experienced the transformative power of Christ, we, too, can be transformed and equipped for the work ahead.

Recognizing the Spiritual Battle

It’s vital to recognize that we are engaged in a spiritual battle. The enemy seeks to discourage us and derail our dreams. However, we are equipped with weapons that are mighty in God for tearing down strongholds. We must remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of darkness.

When we feel overwhelmed, we must turn to the Lord in prayer, seeking His guidance and strength. The church is called to be a beacon of hope, and we must fight for that calling. As we stand together, united in prayer and purpose, we can overcome the challenges before us.

The Vision for the Future

So, what does the future hold for the church? We are called to dream big! We must envision a church that embodies the love and grace of Christ, reaching out to the lost and broken. We need to capture the imagination of our generation, inspiring them to pursue their God-given dreams.

The world is eagerly waiting for the revelation of the sons and daughters of God. This is our opportunity to rise and shine, to be the light in the darkness. We are not merely called to exist but to thrive and transform the world around us.

Conclusion: A Call to Action

In conclusion, we must dare to dream about the church and our role within it. We are part of a worldwide liberation movement, empowered by the Holy Spirit. Our dreams matter; they have the power to unite us and propel us into action.

Let us not settle for a life devoid of passion or purpose. Instead, let us seek daily encounters with Christ, rekindle our dreams, and boldly step into the future God has for us. Together, we can turn the world upside down, just as the early church did, for the glory of God and the betterment of humanity.

Will you join this movement? Will you dare to dream again?

Restoring America’s Godly Heritage

The pressing question for our time is not simply political; it is spiritual and cultural: what threatens the common good most right now?
